Review - Demonds prefer Blonds by Sidney Ayers

A Bad Day For A Demon
Rafe Deleon is a senior demon and he resents like hell his assignment to Earth to retrieve the Chest of the Damned before it falls into the wrong hands. But then he meets beautiful, intriguing succubus Lucy Gregory, and she's just unleashed a whole load of trouble...
Really Sucks For A Succubus
Lucy's chic suburban beauty salon has suddenly become the Underworld's center of mass chaos and destruction. The only good thing in a day going rapidly down the tubes is the arrival of a gorgeous demon who's adamant that he can help her...
But Lucy has quite a few deeply unpleasant-not to mention deadly and hateful-surprises ahead of her, and surely there's never been a worse time to try out a new boyfriend...

My review - 4

Demons prefer blonds is a debut paranormal book for new author Sidney Ayers and boy does it deliver! It has plenty of action, witty humor and fabulous characters. The book is well written and such a fun read.
I can't wait until the next book in the Demons Unleashed Series - Demons Like It Hot comes out in December!

Review - Heart of the Highland Wolf by Terry Spear

Ian McNeill, laird of Argent Castle finds his capital squandered through unwise investments and the wolf clan's home that has been theirs for centuries is in danger of being forfeit for nonpayment of taxes. When a movie producer contacts him with the notion of using his castle to produce a movie, Ian abhores the idea, but it's his only salvation. Even worse, his people become extras in this epic Highland movie. But when one American werewolf romance author, Julia Wildthorn, slips into the castle under the guise of being with the movie company, except she is trying to jumpstart her muse with writing a book set in old-world Scotland--specifically about his castle and his people as the characters in her newest book venture--she and Ian tangle.

My Review - 4.5
I am a big fan of Terry Spear's wolf series and when I had the chance to review the newest one I jumped at it. It is a great addition to the series. There is action, adventure, mystery and romance...from start to finish the book kept me so involved I couldn't put the book down.
I also loved the characters. Ian the Scottish Laird of a castle who falls for Julia Wildthorn, the paranormal romance author! (imagine that!) And the way they meet is priceless! ;) The secondary characters were also amazing including Ian's brothers Marcus and Duncan. I can't wait to see if they end up in their own book! I sure hope they do! :)

Review - Demons are a girls best friend by Linda Wisdom

Feisty witch Maggie enjoys her work as a paranormal law enforcement officer—that is, until she’s assigned to protect a teenager with major attitude and a sleazy boyfriend. A group of satanic Mayans priests has decided Courtney has a drop of divine blood in her—making her just the virgin sacrifice they need to release their God and rule the world.

To prevent this catastrophe, Maggie must team up with half fire demon Declan, the proprietor of Damnation Alley, an underground club and busy demon portal. Declan will be damned if he’ll allow his demon race to be blamed for the malicious acts of some evil Mayans. So he decides to seduce the sexy witch in an effort to discover what the law enforcement agency knows about the Mayan’s plans, but then things get more than a little hot, and Declan finds himself seriously entangled with the sexiest woman he’s ever met

My Review -

This is the first book I have read by Linda Wisdom and it won't be my last. The book is the first book in a new paranormal romance series and the story is about Maggie who is a witch who works as a paranormal police officer. I really liked the character of Maggie.... and Declan was smoking hot! He sizzled on the pages! The book had me giggling and anxiously awaiting the next book in the series to see what has happened to these characters!

Guest Blog with Roxanne St. Claire author of the Guardian Angelino Series & Giveaway

Please welcome Roxanne St Claire to Froggarita's Bookcase as a guest poster.

A Day in the Life of An Author

Oh, you know, a day in the life of an author is just like you imagine: we sleep late, get a massage, drink champagne for brunch and caviar for snack, think about a story, write a sentence, eat bon bons, shop online for hours, talk to Oprah about the interview, pause for a mani/pedi, and then, of course, a booksigning!

You know I’m lying. I’d never shop online for hours! Honestly, the myth of a romance writer’s life was definitely created by someone who never made a living writing novels. A day in the life of an author is not nearly that glamorous and includes a whole heck of, well, writing. There’s some twittering and email, and a fair share of chocolate (more like Hershey Kisses than bon bons), and, of course, we watch Oprah even when we’re not on the show.

A day in the life of this author includes motherhood duties, as well, so throw in some laundry, a school pick up, reviewing homework, and taking someone to dance or violin or track practice. Somewhere in all that, I write between two and five thousand words a day (usually closer to two) or I edit, revise, research, and think. There’s a lot of thinking. I’ve been known to think right through a conversation and forget I had it.

Yes, there is the occasional booksigning and I do squeeze in a mani/pedi now and then, but mostly a day (and night) in the life of a writer consists of sitting at my desk, staring at the computer screen, and making stuff up. And, honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

And there is the fun times when a book comes out…or, like this spring for me, when two books come out. The release of SHIVER OF FEAR and FACE OF DANGER are a welcome break and change, giving me an opportunity to meet with readers like this and celebrate the new books!

The Guardian Angelino's

One relentless reporter. One tormented protector. One gnarled family tree.

On this team of renegade crime fighters…everything is relative.

The Angelino and Rossi families break every Italian stereotype there is. Sure, they’re loud and aggressive. And they argue and eat and cling to traditions for dear life. They fight as passionately as they love, and they would give their life for one of their own. But that’s where the clichés stop, and a brand new family business is about to begin.

The Guardian Angelinos are a Boston-based family that flies under the radar of the law to solve crimes, save lives, protect the innocent, and take down the guilty. This team of rule-breaking, risk-taking, wave-making siblings and cousins aren’t afraid to get into the face of criminals as one of the toughest, grittiest security and PI firms around. This close-knit clan of protection, investigation, law enforcement, technology, weaponry, and legal experts all have one simple creed: The good guys win and the bad guys get the holy hell kicked out of them.

In every stand-alone romantic thriller, readers can expect non-stop adventure, heart-wrenching romance, breath-taking settings, and unforgettable love stories. The Angelino and Rossi cousins are fearless on the outside, but each has a chink in their tough armor, and only one person can help them overcome their weakness…to find love that lasts forever.

Shiver of Fear

Burned by a failed marriage, former FBI agent Marc Rossi wants back in the investigation game with no emotional strings attached. Taking an assignment for his enterprising Angelino cousins, he heads to Northern Ireland to pry a key piece of evidence from a missing socialite-any way he can. But when the ice queen turns out to be warm, beautiful, and on a secret mission of her own, the job becomes a passionate reminder of what happens when duty and desire mix. The daughter of an infamous fugitive, Devyn Sterling has survived betrayal only to find that her mother has mysteriously disappeared. When her search uncovers secrets, lies, and threats, Devyn and Marc must trust each other when every instinct says they can't . . . and a terrorist wants to make sure they won't live to try.

Face of Danger

Private investigator Vivi Angelino has never met a risk she wouldn't take-and her latest client, a starlet with a madman on her heels, gives Vivi the perfect opportunity to walk on the wild side. That is, as long as she can make sure a certain overprotective, overly gorgeous FBI agent stays out of her way-and out of her fantasies.

Special Agent in Charge Colt Lang is not about to stand back and watch Vivi dangle herself as bait for a serial killer. Yet trying to rein her in means throwing his well-worn rulebook-and his iron self-control-to the wind . . . and taking the chance that his heart will become collateral damage in an already perilous case. Because a woman who can't stop searching for the truth is impossible to resist-even when every discovery she makes brings them closer to a calculating murderer with nothing to lose.

Blaire Lindsay has been warned that her ancestral home is haunted. Hearing spectral wails, she decides to search for their source, and is surprised to find a handsome English baron chained to the dungeon wall. As soon as Blaire frees James, Lord Kettering, from his bonds, she quickly finds herself in the arms of the vampyre lord, whose perfect manners are more dangerous than anything Blaire has ever faced... Soon her family's castle is overrun with vengeful vampyres from James' past, which threaten both of their futures. Blaire and James join together in the fight of their lives to save everything they hold dear from the forces of evil...

I love Lydia Dare. There I said it...I just adore her books! It happened one bite is the latest book in a series that did not disapoint! As soon as I started the book I could not put it down! I was up into morning finishing this book. James is a perfectly yummy vampire Lord. Blaire is a spitfire with a spine of steel. They are a perfect match in this story. I love that characters from past books in the series also made their way into this book..I love to know how my favorite couples lives turn out so that was a cherry on top of the book for me.
Visit the authors website here to learn more about the series. You will become as addicted to it as I am! Book 6 comes in July! I CAN'T WAIT!
